Hi Cra8tive, I suggest you to run a LCD BIST by following the below steps to determine if the screen is working fine: (1) The Computer needs to be turned on. (2) Remove the VGA cable from behind the monitor (the cable that connects the monitor and the computer) (3) Now check if you see colored lined on the monitor.
As expected when it started again I had the file system corrupted message but this time, PS3 could not repair and notified me formatting is my only option. Turned to safe mode, tried to restore the file system from there, and it is just stuck on "Preparing" for ever.
From the red light, press AND HOLD the power button through the green until you hear two beeps, then it will turn red again. Press the power button again, and this will reset your PS3's video settings to factory default." There must be a PS4 equivalent of this step, can't tell you exactly what it is unfortunately.
I don't know if it's better to wait at this point. I haven't had a message saying that there is corrupted files on my ps3, but it freezes a lot when I play on games. So I put in safe mode and tried to restore the file system. A few years ago my console was factory reset when I played on it during a thunderstorm. Is it trying to find that data
Stuck in safe mode without official controller : r/PS3. So I recently installed a new SSD for my PS3 but I'm stuck in safe mode to reformat because my third party controller doesn't accept usb and I can't connect it to press the PS button to continue, however I have a third party remote at another house with a USB port, would that work or

I estimate a 2013-ish one. I wanted to update the thing, so I popped in an ethernet cable and ran the procedure. The downloading however got stuck at 99, so I turned off the PS3 and tried to update from a USB stick. The device recognised the firmware and it has been saying 'Please wait' for like half an hour now.
If your PS3 ever gets stuck on the dreaded 99% update while in the loading scream here's how to fix it without losing all your files. First get a second hard drive that's completely wiped with nothing on it formatted to FAT32. Then have a USB with the Newest update. After you have these two things insert the second HDD and USB to your PS3
